Married military men, wedding band question?

When you’re in the field, do you wear your wedding bands or do you take them off because it can be hazard, i.e. getting stuck in large equipment, etc.? I want to buy my calvary scout a wedding band, but I’m not sure what to get him. I hear tungsten and titanium are very strong, but if he’s not going to wear it that much, maybe I should get him something in platinum or white gold. What do you think?

Tungsten is very durable and cheaper than titanium but will shatter if hit in a weak point. Titanium is virtually impossible to break but will cost a bit more.

My husband works on electronics and is required to remove his wedding band (a tungsten band) when he works on certain pieces. He wears it most of the time at work otherwise and wears it constantly when he is home. Otherwise he sticks it on his dog tags or I carry it with me.

Platinum is hella expensive. It’s tripled in cost in the last few months. I wear a platinum ring and to have it resized it will cost me $200 more than white gold.

Try doing what we did, purchase a cheap tungsten ring (you can pick them up at the exchange for like $30) for him to wear at work and then save up and buy a nice white gold or platinum band for him to wear otherwise. That way even if he doesn’t break the tungsten ring he still has the other one.
