Natural Emerald Green
Eye Make-up!?
Well it’s my Prom soon, and I have just bought my dress. I did have one which was pale gold, but I took it back and exchanegd it and now I have an emerald green one which I think compliments my complexion more, as I have pale skin, dark hair and green eyes. What I’m not sure is what I should do for my make-up, should I concentrate on my eyes and use eyeshadow the same colour as my dress to make my eyes stand out or go for a more natural look? Or if anyone else has idea they are welcome

I agree with Angel Eve about not using the same color eyeshadow as your eyes and the dress. I had my make-up done professionally for grad and they put lavender eyeshadow AND lipstick on me to match the dress! It looked so disgusting, but I was running so late already I didn’t even have time to do anything about it (or makeup with me). I hate how I looked, and I hate the pictures of my grad. It just looks SO PURPLE!!
I would suggest that you use a sheer, shimmery (but still somewhat subtle) eyeshadow for between your eyelid and eyebrow, starting the application at your inner tear ducts. (I learned that trick from a professional – a good one!) Then use either a light brown or gold on your eyelid, going darker on the outside crease of the eye.
I got some really good advice from a professional at a makeup counter in Sears. They’ll do a trial on you for free, with no obligation to buy, no appointment necessary, and will give you advice on the application if you ask for it. If you do that, try to go at a time when they’re not too busy, so they will take more time and effort on you. Good luck! Hope it works out for you!
